Artist Statement
Jeanne Cuddeford's work is representational and impressional oil paintings. She is a native Oregonian and loves the diverse seasons and temperaments of Oregon, which her work expresses.
Whether she is painting gardens, landscapes, a still-life, or orchards, the atmosphere and mood are important elements.
Art is important because it enriches our view of the familiar and of the world.
The artist is a perceptual window. A dark, rainy day is not so gloomy if we focus on the brightly colored umbrellas. Just as a smile encourages the weary, a painting should inspire the viewer.
